He just really likes fire.
And when I put him up to the task of organizing the filing cabinet(s), this was his solution.
Honestly? I was pretty impressed.
He went through two whole filing cabinets' worth of files (that's 3 stuffed-full drawers of files, folks), seeing what should be kept for the future (like tax info, house papers, etc), and what could be tossed.
In the end he had a pretty large pile of stuff-that-needed-to-go, and also an entire trash can of receipts. Or, rather, an entire shredder-bin full of receipts (we keep our receipts for money-tracking, and did I mention that our shredder died on us a couple months ago? Yeah, those receipts pile up real fast!).
And rather than spending hours shredding those huge piles of sensitive stuff (and wasting electricity), he had the bright idea to just burn them.
So we went from this:
And now everything fits in our other filing cabinet very nicely.
Not bad, huh?
And did I mention that he used this lighter to start his fire?
Okay, so maybe he's just a really advanced caveman.
(Psst... feel free to try this at home, but do so at your own risk! Be very careful of possible flying fireballs of paper from the fire.)
