Light Me Up

Remember when we installed new lights in our basement? Well, those old lights had to go somewhere - they were the most up-to-date light fixtures in the entire house, and we were not gonna waste them.

Tom actually gets most of the credit for this one, and I don't have any 'before' photos, but if you can imagine a single light bulb light fixture with old aged glass with a dust graveyard full of decaying bugs then you have an idea of what I'm talking about.

As I was saying, I was chatting with my Mom on the phone and Tom starts bangin' away on something in the basement stairwell. A few minutes later and he was dusting off his jeans. Wondering what the heck he was up to, I stroll over there to discover this:

It's like the sun in there now, it's so bright. I love it.

Of course, newer and brighter light fixtures do have their downsides.

Like, for instance, our horrible taping and painting job up there on the ceiling. We never knew it looked that bad until we put up the new light.
