Custom Card Project

This Valentine's day I wanted to do something fun, mushy, and homemade for the man of my dreams. So, I whipped something up on the computer for him (oh, the joys of being a Graphic Designer... when in doubt/trouble, turn to the computer).

I found some photos from some crafty Christmas gifts we'd made for our parents this Christmas, dug up some sappy love quotes from google, whipped up some artistic elements and threw it all together in Photoshop.

And I ended up a pretty spiffy, unique and pretty cool (if I do say so, myself) card:

I was able to print it off of my home computer onto cardstock paper, cut it out and slip it into an envelope. Besides the price being right (1$ or less, compared to 3-6$ at the store), it was completely customizable (I even put our wedding quote on the inside) and had that special sentimental value that all things homemade possess.

Needless to say, he loved it (who wouldn't?!), and of course I love the dozen roses he gave me. Beautiful and classic.

  1. It's so cute! I would take a personalized card over a store-bought one any day, even if it's designed in crayon, which my boyfriend and I did this year. It means more knowing that someone carefully crafted it just for you and spent time making it! I'm glad he loved it - and those roses are gorgeous!
