Dear Mr. Old Garage Door

Dear Mr. Old Garage Door,

While I can't say I will miss you, I can say that I appreciate all you did for us during your time with us. You worked well during the first few months we were with you, but then it seemed as if your time was coming to an end.

You still tried to open and close, even though your system was sickly and wouldn't let you. You still attempted to stay together at the seams, even though your wood was rotting and falling apart. You still tried to lock to protect us, even though your bolt system was rusty and frozen. You still tried to insulate the garage, even though your plastic windows were broken. You tried so hard, and we truly appreciate that.

But your time has come. You have been replaced with a newer, younger model, without chipped paint and rusty locks, broken windows and an earsplitting belt. Your replacement even features an outdoor keypad, in case we ever forget our remote opener.

So you see, while we appreciate everything you attempted to do for us during our relatively short relationship, it is time now to say goodbye.

We won't miss you.
