Reader Refresh: Beth's DIY Birthday Invitation

Want to know what totally made my day week? This email I received from a reader.

Beth writes:

"So my 30th birthday is rapidly approaching. All I really wanted for my birthday from my husband was a surprise party. It kind of became a running joke because people would start asking me when my birthday party would be. Finally, I came to the realization that my husband was NOT planning my party, so I kicked things in to high gear and started planning it myself. I found Chelsea's lovely chevron pattern in the archives, and the invitation you see below was born! Only downside for my husband? Now that I'm planning my party, he has to get me a present. An expensive one. Heh heh heh."

And here's the invitation that she designed (blurred to protect her privacy):

Didn't she do a great job? I'm really diggin' all the purples and pinks she used, and that coordinating photo (complete with pink candles and a boa) is just perfect!

And of course I love that she found a fantastic use for one of our free graphics that we offer to you every Friday. If you're digging that cool chevron pattern - and images of invitations, stationary, scrapbooking, etc, are dancing in your mind - you can download it for yourself here.

Want to be featured in a future Reader Refresh post? If you've got a fab Room Redo, a fun and easy project, a great How-To Tutorial, or a fantastic use for our Freebie Friday free stuff, send it in! We'd love to feature you here on This Fresh Fossil.
