I hope that you had a fabulous weekend. I sure did. I turned 25 on Saturday! Which means that we pretty much celebrated my birthday all weekend. Hah, I never wanted it to end!
But in between all the gifts, celebrating and cake-eating, I also managed to get quite a bit done on some projects 'round these here parts. Stay tuned later this week for the details on those.
I also staged a bit of a photo shoot of the current state of our kitchen. The previous photo really didn't do the new sink, countertops, and rug justice, and the evening sunlight once I get home around 5-ish just wasn't enough for a decent photo. So I did what most photographers say NOT to do - I waited until the sun was streaming in through the window to take some photos. Besides the patch of bright sunlight on the floor, I think they turned out quite nice.
And while we're at it, let's take a look at the hideous "before" photo to really appreciate all the work we've done in here thus far...
BEFORE
Um, the nicest thing I have to say is it probably would've been nice - in 1970.
OLD "CURRENT" PHOTO
And here's the older photo we had up of the "current" kitchen state...
NEW "CURRENT" PHOTO
And here's the one I took this past weekend. The new rug, sink, and different lighting sure does make a difference, doesn't it?
This is pretty much the way we experience our lovely little kitchen on most days, especially weekends - flooded with light. Thanks to all the reflective surfaces, such as the stainless steel and the countertops, and also the white cabinets, it seems like light really bounces all over, turning breakfast into a wonderful and fun affair. In fact, it's not at all unusual to find us talking and smiling and laughing and yes - even singing and dancing, as we whip up a little somethin' somethin' for ourselves.
Ah, I love the weekends.

I really like the second "after" photo with all the light. Great job and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Girlie! And your kitchen is what I want mine to grow up to be.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you are right! The white looks so much crisper in the second photo! Thanks for updating it! I already loved your kitchen before but now I love it even more (even though not much changed haha).
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday!!!!
Another reminder of why I want to paint my kitchen cabinets! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. I like that you put a fan in the kitchen, you don't see that very often. I am sitting here looking back at my kitchen to try to picture if it would look ok with a fan in mine, too! LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Looks great, Chelsea...airy and happy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so inviting-light,sunny and fresh!
